The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Asante Kotoko’s exit from the Champions League.

Kotoko lost 1-0 in the first leg of the final qualification round to Al-Hilal and saw the second leg cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns in Kotoko’s camp.

The Porcupine Warriors were unable to provide at least 15 players for the clash and as such automatically conceded the match with a 2-0 scoreline for Al-Hilal.

CAF has gone ahead to add Al-Hilal to the teams who will play in the group stages of the competition, confirming Kotoko’s exit.

It is expected that the Porcupine Warriors will challenge the decision.
