Presidential Adviser on Health at the Presidency, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare has debunked the notion that government is suppressing figures on COVID-19 related deaths in the country.

Speaking on public health infrastructure for preventive health care during pandemics at the New Year School in Accra, Mr. Nsiah Asare explained that data on cases are updated every 48 hours.

This, he said, needs to be confirmed and certified to determine the actual cause of death before updating figures on the Ghana Health Service portal.

Director of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Prof. Abraham Anang shared some lessons learnt and how it has improved their work. He said more laboratory technicians have been trained to enhance laboratory skills for infectious diseases.
