John Peter Amewu takes responsibility for failed PDS concession deal

Minister-designate for Railway development, John Peter Amewu has taken responsibility for the failed PDS concession deal.

According to him, even though the decision to terminate the controversial deal was a cabinet action, he holds himself responsible as sector minister at the time.

Answering questions during his vetting in Parliament Mr. Amewu said he is answerable for any liability of the botched deal. According to him government has paid all its debts owed ECG.

John Peter Amewu insisted that he never seized excavators during his tenure as Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.

A number of excavators that were at illegal mining sites were seized by the Inter-Ministerial Committee Task Force on Illegal Mining during the peak of the war against galamsey in Ghana Peter Amewu during his vetting however said the excavators were withdrawn and not seized.
