National Chairman of the Coalition of NGOs in Health, Bright Amissah Nyarko, has appealed to hospitals to look for alternative ways of seeking payment from patients rather than detaining them.
Speaking to GBC NEWS on the detention of 250 patients at the Koforidua Municipal hospital due to their indebtedness, he said the people can contract diseases when kept at the hospital.
Mr. Amissah Nyarko proposed that an arrangement be made with such patients for them to pay their debts by instalments.
