Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has charged Regional Security Councils, REGSECs to respond promptly to intelligence and early warning signals on issues within their localities.
She said critical areas that demand utmost attention are chieftaincy and land disputes, activities of land guards, illegal mining, smuggling and invasion of farms by herdsmen.
Madam Osei-Opare said it is expected of Regional Ministers as Chairpersons of REGSEC to pursue such security concerns with urgency to ensure peace which is a key ingredient in the march towards sustainable development.
She was speaking at the opening of a two-day conference for Regional Ministers and their Coordinating Directors in Accra.
