Stakeholders in the Security and Labour sectors have shared diverse opinions on calls for the IGP to resign following heightened Security concerns as a result of the armed robbery on a bullion van at Jamestown in Accra which led to the death of a Police Officer.

Monday’s incident adds to series of attacks in various parts of the country usually involving the use of motorbikes.

In an interview with Security Analyst, David Agbee, he supported calls for the resignation of the IGP.

In his view, the IGP has not justified his contract extension after his retirement. Mr Agbee was not happy with the IGP’s response to calls for his resignation.

Meanwhile, a Labour Analyst, Seth Abloso, has asked Ghanaians to stop linking the current Security situation to calls for the resignation of the IGP.

Mr Abloso called on government to abolish the printing and circulation of the ¢100 and ¢200 notes.

According to him, the printing of such notes provides incentives for armed robbers to attack bullion vans.
