Ghana records 1st case of Covid-19 Omicron Variant at KIA

Ghana has recorded its first case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant. This was revealed by the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye. He said the Variant was detected in passengers who arrived at the Kotoka International Airport from Nigeria and South Africa on 21st November 2021.

Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye disclosed that ”tracing and more testing” are on-going to pick up and more of the cases that may have come arrived in the country.

He appealed for calm and advised that everyone adhere to the safety protocols of hand washing and keeping the distance.
