At least 10 people have been confirmed dead in an accident at Zugu in the Savelugu Municipality of the Northern region.
A Kia Rhino truck carrying about 33 mourners were returning from a funeral at zugu when the accident occurred.
Briefing Journalists, the Northern Regional Crime officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga said the driver of the truck through interrogations indicated that in an attempt to avoid hitting a cyclist, he lost control and somersaulted.
”The accident happened at about 1pm yesterday resulting in the death of six people on the spot. Four people died later at the Savelugu hospital while the injured have been sent to the Tamale Teaching hospital for further treatment”, he explained.
