The Ashanti Regional Police Command is pursuing a suspected three-member highway robbery gang which struck on February 21, 2022 dawn attacking a commercial bus.
The Kumasi bound bus was fully loaded with passengers when the highway robbers struck near Anhwiankwanta.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyoh, the bus, with registration number GT 5795-13, was heading towards Kumasi from the Central region direction when it was attacked at River Oda near Anhwiankwanta in the Asante Bekwai Municipality.
The incident, according to him, occurred at about 3:45 Monday dawn during which the passengers were robbed of their baggage and money.
ASP Ahianyo also spoke about steps being taken by the Ashanti Regional Police Command to track the perpetrators down to face the law.
The Police PRO has urged members of the public to help with relevant information through their emergency number 191 to enable them to arrest and deal with suspects.
