Panelists on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, “Talking Point”, say indicators show the economy is performing creditably compared to previous years.
They believe that as the economy grows, it will boost investor confidence, as well as create more job opportunities for the people.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Chartered Economists, Gideon Amissah, said though the Bank of Ghana Monetary Report shows growth is on a high side, consumer confidence is low.
This is because the oil sector that drives the growth rate is detached from all other sectors of the economy.

Economics Lecturer, Wisconsin International University College, Rev. Dr. Worlanyo Mensah noted that the good macro indicators should spur the ordinary man to grow his business and encourage Ghanaians to be proactive.
A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Ghana, Dr. Ebo Turkson, however said when the economy has solid indicators it does not mean the citizens will feel it in their pockets.
