Daughter of the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Samia Nkrumah speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show, stated that her father, Dr. Nkrumah is too big for any of them or Ghana for anybody to step in his shoes but she is an internal optimist. who believes that one day she might want to step in the shoes of her father and contest to be Ghana’s President someday.

Today, 27th April is exactly 50years since the Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah died in Bucharest (Romania), In 1972 and in remembrance of him, Samia Nkrumah stated that the family is not sad, but rather very strong and hopeful, because Dr. Nkrumah’s policies, politics and thoughts are now a point of reference for every Politician in Ghana which makes his legacies very strong and still guiding us as Ghanaians. She added that “no one in Ghana can deny the influence and positive impact that Kwame Nkrumah has on the lives of Ghanaians and Africa”.

Samia Nkrumah again stated that there are many things that Ghana needs to do to commemorate Osagyefo and disclosed that the state of the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum needs to be upgraded as well as, an idea like the Kwame Nkrumah Library that will use modern technology to show many of the things he did and spoke.

She concluded by suggesting that Ghana and the government should revisit his speeches and writings as well as his economic plans and legacies that he initiated that are still inspiring.
