Teacher Unions walk out of meeting after gov’t insisted they call off strike before any negotiations could begin

The four striking Teacher Unions remain on strike as it’s meeting with government ended in a stalemate.

Representatives of the unions walked out of the meeting citing betrayal of trust on the part of government.

Addressing the media, leadership of the unions said government demanded they call off their strike before the negotiation could start, a reason they had to take an early leave of the meeting.

Leadership of the teacher unions described the situation as unfortunate and will continue with its strike until further notice.

President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT Rev. Isaac Owusu and President of NAGRAT, Angel Carbonu spoke to the media.
