Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana, TUTAG has with immediate effect declared an indefinite strike.

It says issues raised in their letter dated 26th September 2022, titled “New Rate of Fuel Allowance for Members of UTAG And TUTAG” have not received any attention.

The National President, Professor Collins Ameyaw in an interview with GBC’s Isaac Asare said the inaction by the Ministers of Education and Finance, Chairman of the National Labour Commission, NLC and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission is an indication that the concerns expressed have not been taken seriously.

He said even though January 2023 is less than two months away, and most Universities are done with budget preparations, the Minister of Finance has still not issued the letter as directed by the NLC.

Upon further deliberations by the National and Regional Chapter Executives of TUTAG, it therefore arrived at the decision to declare the strike, Professor Ameyaw indicated.
