GFA apologizes to Ghanaians for Black Stars exit of 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

The Ghana Football Association, GFA, says the inability of the Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars to progress to the knockout stage of the ongoing FIFA World Cup is regrettable. It has consequently offered apologies to government, Ghanaians and all stakeholders.

In a statement the GFA said though Ghana’s dream of becoming World Champions has ended, “the tournament presented Ghana with valuable lessons, which would be leveraged upon in future tournaments”.

The GFA expressed appreciation to all Ghanaians especially corporate Ghana and supporters for their unwavering and unflinching support during the Black Stars FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, campaign.

The Black Stars of Ghana were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after being defeated by Uruguay by two goals to nil.

All the goals were scored in the first half by Uruguay’s Giorgian de Arrascaeta.
