It is said that in every rumour, there is an atom of truth. Social media was flooded on Monday morning, March 12, 2023, with fliers from the Media General to welcome celebrated Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown to Onua TV/FM after rumours rife over the weekend that she has quit her former job at UTV.

Speaking on her journey to fame during a welcome ceremony characterised by the kete dance and frenzy drumming, Mrs. McBrown disclosed that she was deported from America in 2001.

“My uncle, Papa Kofi McBrown, arrived in Ghana from America. He decided to take me to America because he saw me playing table tennis and said I was multi-talented. In January 2021, I journeyed to America on Ghana Airways, but unfortunately, I was deported to Ghana,” she narrated in an exclusive interview with Captain Smart.

“It was my dream to travel to America. So in my desperation, I acquired visas for all countries, including Libya, but I was denied an American visa,” she added.

The multi-talented actress added that she was rejected by her family after her failed journey to America and that life became difficult for her.

Amid the hardships in her life, she joined Miracle Film as a customer, and that was her stepping stone to becoming a superstar.

She encouraged Ghanaians not to be overly fixated on traveling abroad by hook or crook for greener pastures and to try doing other jobs in Ghana.
