The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has declared that goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott will be fit to play in the upcoming match against Angola, despite sustaining an injury during training.

Wollacott, who plays for Charlton Athletic, was struck when a mobile goalpost fell on him during a training session, causing a soft tissue contusion on his right big toe.

He was immediately treated by the medical team, and further assessment revealed no major concerns.

The team’s medical staff has confirmed that Wollacott has been cleared to train on Wednesday and will be available for selection.

The Ghanaian team is currently tied for first place in Group E with Angola in Group E of the 2023 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers, and their upcoming match could determine the group’s leader.

The first leg is scheduled for March 23 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with the second leg taking place on March 27 in Luanda.
