The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party has officially confirmed the resignation of former Trades and Industry Minister and former flagbearer hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen from the party he has served for a long time.

On September 25, 2023, Alan Kyerematen through a press conference announced his resignation from the NPP, following his withdrawal from the flagbearer race.

He expressed his intention to run for Presidency come December 2024.

In a press statement signed by the general secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua, the party confirmed Alan’s resignation from the party.

He urged the rank and file of the party to remain calm as the party plans on addressing the public on further developments on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
