The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed claims of creating 25 new constituencies ahead of the 2024 elections.
This follows reports that the Commission has commenced procedures for establishing 25 new constituencies.
A statement signed by the Acting Head of Public Affairs, Micheal Boadu, indicated that it is only creating one constituency, which is the Guan constituency in the Oti Region.
The EC has therefore urged the general public, to disregard the statement of the creation of the 25 new constituencies.
The Commission insisted that it has not taken any decision on creating constituencies beyond that of the Guan.
