Lawyers for MP for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson, have accused Justice Mary Yanzuh of bias against their client.
Justice Yanzuh is the Accra High Court judge hearing the criminal case against the MP, who has been accused of perjury and other offences.
Justice Yanzuh allegedly commented in a previous hearing that the MP, who is currently in Canada for medical attention, has no medical condition.
Lead Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata informed the High Court that they have filed an application for certiorari and prohibition of the proceedings at the Supreme Court against the trial court.
The said application is seeking an order to halt further proceedings at the High Court.
