Police had to intervene to prevent potential violence at the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amafro and Anyaa-Sowutuom constituencies during the ongoing parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

At Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amafro, one individual was arrested for attempting to obstruct a delegate from casting her ballot.

The individual claimed that her name was not on the register and insisted she should not be allowed to participate in the process.

A conflict arose at Anyaa-Sowutuom between the Nasara Coordinator, Mustapha Osman, and the constituency Women’s Organiser, Hajia Hawa, regarding the eligibility of a delegate.

Ghana Police Service personnel swiftly intervened to prevent any further escalation in both incidents.

Meanwhile, at the Mion constituency voting center, police officers had to escort Rashid Goodman out of the area to prevent potential attacks by angry bystanders.

Goodman faced accusations of slapping the NPP Constituency Chairman, Sule Fuseini Alhassan, allegations he denied during police questioning.
