Although full results are not yet in some of the people our correspondent Gloria Anderson spoke to say they are disappointed because turnout did not match the pre enthusiastic voting atmosphere in the area.

A journalist with the state Broadcaster, GBC in the area, Atta Agyeman also expressed disappointment at the turnout because he said a lot of education had been done on the developmental benefits of creating the new region.

Some officials however attributed the low turnout to the fact that most people had gone to their farms. Others also say it was because of the absence of political parties campaign activities. ” If it was NPP, NDC they would have gone to bus their people ” one of the official disclosed.
