New Regions Referendum: EC lauded for conducting smooth polls

The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers, CODEO, has lauded the Electoral Commission for a smooth voting process in the December 27 referendum. Spokesperson for the Coalition, Rhoda Osei-Afful, told Radio Ghana, that generally, the exercise was a success.

Meanwhile, results released from the Collation Centre of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality by the Returning Officer, Kwasi Boakye Kwarteng show that 63, 554 out of the 80, 873 total number of registered voters went to the polls to cast their ballot.

63,340 of them voted YES representing 99.66 percent while only 123 voted NO.

The Centre, Mr Kwarteng said recorded 91 rejected ballots from all the 146 polling stations in the Municipality.
