Christian Kwabena Andrews, widely known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, stands as a transformative figure in Ghanaian politics, passionately advocating for the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) to challenge the longstanding dominance of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party.

During GBC’s Presidential Encounters on November 15, 2024, he articulated a compelling vision for the future of Ghana, emphasising the urgent need for innovation and job creation, particularly for the nation’s youth.

Andrews envisions a Ghana where the potential of its rich natural resources—gold, diamonds, timber, and rice—is harnessed for national development rather than relying on foreign loans. He believes that by reviving abandoned factories and creating job opportunities, he can empower the youth and stimulate the economy.

His commitment to transforming the industrial landscape includes plans to reinvigorate key facilities like the Kumasi shoe factory, Aboso glass factory, and Bolgatanga maize factory, which he sees as crucial to providing sustainable employment for young Ghanaians.

Moreover, Andrews aims to elevate the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to international standards, akin to CNN, to ensure that Ghanaians have access to quality news and information. He insists on a paradigm shift in mindset, advocating for the development of local talents and resources instead of waiting for foreign aid.

One of his bold proposals includes eliminating traditional examination systems in schools, arguing that the lengthy educational process should not lead to unemployment. By focusing on practical skills and job readiness, he hopes to create a more effective educational framework that aligns with the needs of the job market, ultimately fostering a thriving economy for Ghana.
