The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is reportedly set to dismiss Black Stars assistant coaches John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann. This follows Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, a first in 20 years, which has drawn heavy criticism from fans and analysts alike.

Head coach Otto Addo and his team have been under intense pressure since the qualification loss, with fans demanding significant changes. According to reports, the GFA is already in talks with a Belgian and a Serbian coach as possible replacements for Paintsil and Laumann.

This restructuring is seen as part of broader preparations for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, scheduled for March. While Otto Addo’s future remains uncertain, Paintsil and Laumann’s positions appear to be in immediate jeopardy.

The two coaches, who replaced George Boateng and Didi Dramani in their roles, could soon see their tenure cut short as the GFA looks to rebuild confidence in the team.

Fans are eagerly awaiting updates as the GFA works to reshape the technical staff of the national team.
