In a recent exclusive interview with Kafui Dey, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Ada and Deputy Majority Whip, emphasized that her appointment is a testament to the preparedness of women for leadership roles.

“My appointment is a reflection of readiness of women,” she iterated. Highlighting her dedication to empowering women, encouraging them to overcome societal barriers and embrace opportunities.

Hon. Comfort provided insights into her role in parliament, likening her responsibilities to that of an HR manager or welfare officer. “You have to control all of them and make sure their welfare, everything is intact,” she explained, stressing the importance of ensuring the well-being of her parliamentary colleagues.

She also shared her perspective on discipline within parliament, revealing that consequences for misconduct are sometimes enforced subtly. “At times they don’t even know it’s a punishment,” she noted, highlighting the nuanced ways accountability is maintained.

Reflecting on her personal journey, she credited her resilience to her upbringing in a market environment. “I was trained in the market,” she stated, underscoring the determination that shaped her path into politics.

A firm believer in delivering results over seeking approval, she asserted, “I’m not here to please anybody. I’m here to deliver on why I’m here.” Her leadership is driven by a commitment to her constituents and a broader mission to address national issues.

Hon. Comfort’s career continues to be defined by her strong sense of purpose and resilience, inspiring both her constituents and fellow politicians alike.
