President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for an immediate and unconditional halt to Russian missile and drone strikes after deadly attacks overnight killed at least nine people in Kyiv and injured dozens more across Ukraine.

Speaking publicly while adjusting his visit to South Africa, Zelensky described the latest assault as a brutal attack on Ukrainian cities, claiming Russia had launched nearly 70 missiles and around 150 attack drones in one night. “These strikes must be stopped immediately and unconditionally,” he said in a message posted online.

Zelensky also used the opportunity to express gratitude to countries and people around the world who continue to support Ukraine’s fight for survival and independence. “I am thankful to everyone who stands with Ukraine,” he said.

His remarks come as part of a broader campaign to strengthen global opposition to the war and put pressure on Russia. Despite ongoing efforts to engage international partners, Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine will not accept any peace arrangement that involves surrendering territory or compromising on sovereignty.

Ukrainian officials have emphasized that peace must not come at the cost of justice or national integrity, and that continued Russian attacks prove Moscow has no genuine interest in ending the conflict through diplomacy.
