Ghanaian boxer Jacob Dickson suffered a decisive defeat at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Friday,June 13, 2025 losing his WBC African Cruiserweight title to American challenger Andrew Tabiti. The bout, billed as the main event on the “Battle of the Beasts” card organized by Legacy Rise Sports and Amir Khan Promotions, ended prematurely with a fourth-round knockout in favor of Tabiti. The American fighter demonstrated dominance from the outset, sending Dickson to the canvas three times during the fight.

The fight was over before it truly began, as Dickson struggled to mount any offense and was visibly overwhelmed early on. His difficulties started in the first round when an uppercut from Tabiti knocked him down, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Despite the presence of boxing legends such as Azumah Nelson Joshua Clottey and Ayitey Powers in attendance, Dickson was unable to draw inspiration or find a way to turn the tide of the fight.

Andrew Tabiti, a seasoned professional who once trained under Floyd Mayweather senior at Mayweather Juniors gym, showcased his power and technical skills throughout the bout. He targeted Dickson’s body with punishing shots before unleashing a barrage of punches to his head, further weakening the Ghanaian boxer. The relentless assault left Dickson unable to defend himself effectively, leading to further knockdowns.

Hopes for a comeback faded completely when Dickson was knocked down again in the fourth round. Just one minute and 34 seconds into the round, Tabiti secured his victory with another powerful punch that sent Dickson to the canvas for the third and final time. This decisive knockout sealed the fate of the Ghanaian champion and handed Tabiti a significant victory in his professional career.

With this win, Andrew Tabiti has now improved his professional record to 21 wins out of 23 fights. The victory not only crowned him the new WBC African Cruiserweight champion but also cemented his reputation as a formidable contender in the cruiserweight division. The fight at Bukom Arena will be remembered as a showcase of Tabiti’s skill and power and a tough loss for Dickson in front of his home crowd.
