The Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana, has praised Lifestyle TV, a sister station of GBC, for initiating TrekGh, The Western Experience, an exciting journey showcasing Ghana’s breathtaking tourist attractions.
Speaking on the GTV breakfast show, Mr. Abeiku Santana highlighted the Authority’s commitment to supporting the trip and enhancing its appeal for participants and the nation at large.
“It is our mandate to promote tourism in the country but when we see a private player doing it, we have to support. I remember when the marketing director, Mr Lomotey came to see us, we jumped on it, we wrote a letter to the intercity STC to give us some discount to support so Ghana Tourism Authority is proudly associated with the Trek Gh, the Western experience and we want to deepen this relationship,” he said.
He stressed the significance of the trip in boosting domestic tourism and local economies.

“This also helps to promote the local economy. Imagine over 50, 60 people going to the Western Region, they are going to spend money there. This is how we can grow our economy. There’s a huge potential for us.”
The media personality also encouraged Ghanaians to join the adventure.
“It’s fun, come and have a getaway experience and also the opportunity to network. Meet corporate people, share ideas and experience Ghana.”
The Western Experience, scheduled for June 20th to 22nd, 2025, offers participants a unique blend of culture, nature, and leisure. Guests will stay at the luxurious Maaha Beach Resort and explore iconic destinations such as the mystical village of Nzulezu, historic Fort Apollonia, and the serene Makarios Trail.
From tranquil landscapes to historical landmarks, The Western Experience invites adventurers and heritage lovers alike to discover Ghana in a fresh, unforgettable way. TrekGh continues to provide curated travel experiences that are both meaningful and memorable.
