The Chief Executive nominee for the Wa East District, Adamu Sayibu, and his counterpart for the Nadowli-Kaleo District, Madam Mary Haruna, both of whom faced stiff opposition leading to their rejection in April this year, have now been approved.

Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo reports that the approval of the nominees followed their renomination by the President after their earlier outright rejection by the two District Assemblies. The confirmation exercises drew large crowds to the District Assembly halls at Funsi and Nadowli, the respective venues for the events.
