The Ghana Police Service has taken action against a police officer who was seen in a viral video assaulting a reporter from GHONE TV during the ongoing re-run election activities in the Ablekuma North constituency.‎

‎According to a press release signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah, the officer involved has been removed from election duty and placed under interdiction.‎

‎The statement explained that the officer has also been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for investigation, in line with the Service’s internal disciplinary procedures.‎

‎The Police assured the public that a full and thorough investigation will be conducted into the matter and promised to provide further updates as they become available.‎
