The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with social media personalities who spread false information for attention.
In a statement released over the weekend, the Ministry strongly refuted recent claims made by a social media figure accusing the Minister of being disrespectful and unprofessional. The Ministry described these accusations as completely false and misleading.
“These assertions, portraying the Minister as disrespectful and unprofessional, are not only wholly unfounded but also gravely misleading,” the statement said.
According to the Ministry, the Minister has consistently demonstrated humility, dedication, and a strong work ethic. Her interactions with stakeholders, industry players, and the public have been grounded in mutual respect and a shared commitment to promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.
The Ministry expressed disappointment over what it described as an attempt to damage the Minister’s reputation, adding that such actions also discredit the hardworking staff within the creative industry.
“The regrettable attempt to tarnish this reputation undermines not only the Minister but also the hard work of the entire Ministry and all who serve the creative sector with pride,” the statement added.
The Ministry urged the public to be cautious and distance themselves from content creators and individuals who promote sensational stories without regard for the truth, focusing instead on attention-seeking rather than preserving public trust and unity.
“Falsehoods spread with viral intent may gather temporary noise, but truth always prevails,” the statement read.
The Ministry encouraged all well-meaning Ghanaians to disregard the false claims and continue supporting its efforts to protect, promote, and uplift Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts.
Directors of the Ministry have also demanded an unqualified apology from the individual spreading the allegations. They emphasized that while open discussions are welcome, deliberate falsehoods intended to cause division or distraction will not be tolerated.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and the continued development of Ghana’s creative and cultural sectors.
