MTN Ghana has officially been named the headline sponsor for Ghana’s national football teams, with the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Satellites and Black Starlets set to be the top beneficiaries. MTN will invest $2 million in the four teams over the next two years.
The announcement was made by MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett during a partnership reveal ceremony on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Accra. The deal marks a renewed corporate commitment to supporting Ghana’s most celebrated sporting brand.
The sponsorship package covers the senior men’s team (Black Stars), senior women’s team (Black Queens), the under-20 men’s team (Black Satellites) and the under-17 men’s team (Black Starlets).
Stephen Blewett emphasised MTN’s long-standing dedication to sports development in Ghana and highlighted football’s unparalleled ability to unite the nation.
“Football is a passion that connects the whole country, and MTN is proud to be part of the journey to take our teams to greater heights,” he said.
Beyond financial backing, MTN’s involvement aims to inspire future generations of Ghanaian footballers by providing critical resources and logistical support as the teams prepare for upcoming tournaments and qualifiers.
The sponsorship is expected to enhance training facilities, improve team logistics, and increase exposure for the national teams both regionally and internationally.
Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku welcomed the partnership as a “timely boost” amid ongoing efforts to revive Ghanaian football’s prominence.
