Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has signed a three year contract with French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice. The 25-year-old, known for his energy, vision, and relentless work rate, returns to French league where he initially made a name for himself.

His return to France marks a significant step forward in his career after a short spell in England with Sunderland as he aims to make an impact with his new team. Samed is a familiar figure to French football enthusiasts, having first impressed at Clermont Foot between 2019 and 2022.

He then reached new heights at RC Lens from 2022 to 2024 under the guidance of coach Franck Haise. Throughout his time at Lens, Samed’s tireless performances and exceptional ability to link defense and attack cemented his reputation as one of the league’s standout midfielders.

Last season, Samed experienced English football on loan at Sunderland, where he faced the challenges of a new league and some injury setbacks. Despite these hurdles, he made eleven appearances, helping the Black Cats secure promotion to the Premier League.

This stint in England not only broadened his experience but also enhanced his leadership qualities and composure under pressure.

Returning to France with OGC Nice, Samed is expected to bring his dynamic midfield presence to the team.

His ability to control the game from the middle of the park and his tireless work ethic are qualities that Nice will be eager to utilize as they compete in Ligue 1 this season. Salis Abdul Samed is anticipated to make his debut for OGC Nice on August 16th when the team hosts Toulouse at the Allianz Riviera.
