Sissala chiefs mourn helicopter crash victims

The Council of Sissala Chiefs has expressed deep sorrow following the deaths of eight government and military personnel in a helicopter crash.

In a statement signed by Kuoro Abu Diaka SUkabe Ninia V, Paramount Chief of Zini and Interim PRO/Secretary for the Council, the chiefs described the men as “irreplaceable sons of Ghana” whose sacrifice in the line of duty would inspire future generations.

The crash, which involved a military helicopter, claimed the lives of both government officials and service members while on active duty.

“Their patriotism, dedication to duty and sacrifice resulting in their death on the line of duty should and will continue to inspire generations,” the chiefs said on Wednesday, August 13.

The Council extended condolences to President John Mahama, the bereaved families, and the people of Ghana, urging the nation to rally behind the government and families with support and prayers.

“We pray the Good Lord to comfort the bereaved families and grant the souls of our sons eternal peace and rest,” the statement added.
