Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged colleges of education across the country to strengthen partnerships with universities in order to roll out undergraduate degree programmes.
He explained that such collaborations would make higher education more accessible to teacher trainees while easing the burden of distance and limited facilities.

The minister made this call during the inauguration of new governing councils for ten colleges of education. The institutions include Dambai, Akatsi, St. Francis, Fosu, Our Lady of Apostles, Holy Child, Kibi, Presbyterian Women’s, SDA, and St. Louis Colleges of Education.
According to him, aligning teacher training colleges more closely with universities would not only enhance the quality of professional preparation but also create flexible academic pathways for the next generation of educators.
