The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a week-long Conference of Heads of Mission and Orientation Programme for newly appointed Envoys, aimed at strengthening Ghana’s diplomatic service.
The conference, scheduled from Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5, 2025, will run under the theme: “Harnessing the Dividends of Diplomacy for Ghana’s Reset Agenda.” President John Dramani Mahama is expected to open the conference and launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Heads of Mission.

According to a press release from the Ministry, the conference seeks to prepare Ghana’s Heads of Mission for their roles by providing detailed briefings on key areas of national interest. This, officials say, will equip envoys to deliver effectively on Ghana’s foreign policy objectives, with the ultimate goal of improving the livelihood of citizens.
In addition, special knowledge-sharing sessions will be organized, bringing together experts from key institutions across Ghana to deepen the envoys’ understanding of their mandates in their respective jurisdictions.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to providing quality public service,” the statement emphasized.
The conference underscores government’s efforts to reposition Ghana’s diplomacy as a tool for national development and international cooperation.
