A Lecturer and Entrepreneur, Kojo Ofori-Safo has been elected as the MCE for Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region at Kyebi.
The President’s nominee who was a Special Assistant to Kwamena Bartels, a Minister in the erstwhile Kufuor Administration received a hundred percent endorsement by the 32 Assembly members present.
The Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly came into being the East Akyem Municipality was divided into two, namely Abuakwa North and South. It is among the 38 Districts and Municipalities that were created in November 2017.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Ofori-Safo outlined his agenda for the assembly, pointing out education and job creation as his main priorities.
