Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen’s Movement for Change has rebranded as the United Party (UP Plus). The newly unveiled UP Plus officially outlined its vision to transform Ghana into Africa’s economic powerhouse by 2040.
The party’s founder, Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, emphasized the need for a unified approach to achieve this goal, questioning whether Ghana can become a powerhouse if it remains divided, indisciplined and visionless.
“Our vision is to make Ghana the economic powerhouse of Africa by 2040”, he revealed.
Speaking during the unveiling of the once independent party on Thursday, October 16, 2025, Mr. Kyerematen said the rebrand represents a new dawn for Ghanaian politics, enhancing accountability, strengthening the fight against corruption, and providing a credible alternative to the winner-takes-all system.
He also cited the major political parties in Ghana as having failed to articulate their visions to the Ghanaian people. According to him, the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress have failed to reiterate their visions to Ghanaians as he has done with the rebranded United Party.
He believes that the United Party’s vision for a prosperous Ghana is distinct and focused on economic transformation.

He also emphasized that the party’s vision is not just about winning elections but about creating a better future for all Ghanaians with the hope of turning the country into paradise by the year 2040.
