Millions of users around the world are currently experiencing difficulties accessing popular online platforms following a major global outage affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The disruption, which began on Monday, October 20, 2025 has caused several apps and websites, including Snapchat, Amazon, Roblox, Duolingo, Alexa, and Ring to go down or load slowly.
AWS, one of the world’s largest cloud computing networks, confirmed the issue on its official health dashboard, citing an “operational problem” in its US-East-1 region that is resulting in high error rates and delays across multiple services.
Users in North America, Europe, and parts of Africa have reported app crashes, login errors, and slow responses from affected platforms.
The outage has also disrupted other widely used services such as Fortnite, Coinbase, Venmo, and Robinhood, leaving millions of users unable to access their accounts or perform transactions.
AWS engineers say they are actively working to resolve the problem and restore normal service as soon as possible. The incident highlights how dependent global digital systems are on cloud infrastructure, where a single technical failure can disrupt millions of users worldwide.
