The Ministry of Health (MoH) has signed performance contracts with its agencies to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery in the health sector.
The two-year agreement, which spans from January 2025 to December 2026, is designed to ensure that heads of agencies deliver measurable results while maintaining room for innovation.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, described the initiative as a turning point for Ghana’s health sector, noting that it aims to shift focus from intentions to measurable impact.

This is not just paperwork; it is about making performance our culture and excellence our daily habit,” he stated.
According to the Minister, the new system will be guided by regular reviews and transparent assessments to ensure that health institutions provide tangible improvements for citizens.

He added that the Ministry will conduct quarterly reviews, half-year assessments, and annual evaluations under the agreement to promote continuous improvement, reward excellence, and address underperformance.
The performance agreement marks a renewed commitment by the Ministry to foster a results-driven culture across Ghana’s health sector.
