Maternal health advocacy organization, Maltiti Care International, has held its Maternal Health Summit 2025, which brought together key stakeholders to discuss sustainable ways of improving maternal healthcare in Ghana.

The summit, held at the UGMC Simulation Centre in Accra under the theme “Promoting Better Motherhood Outcomes, Ending Obstetric Fistula,” also featured the official launch of the Nurture Box initiative, a maternal support package designed to promote safer pregnancies and better health outcomes for expectant mothers.

The event attracted health professionals, policymakers, and maternal health advocates, including Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim, who joined other dignitaries in adding their voices to the call for improved maternal and reproductive healthcare.

The Nurture Box, spearheaded by Maltiti Care International, provides expectant mothers with essential items and educational materials to support them through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Each box includes diapers, sanitary pads, baby clothing, nutritional supplements, delivery kits, and educational leaflets on maternal health and hygiene.

Founder of Maltiti Care International, Maltiti Sayida Sadick, explained that the Nurture Box was born out of a desire to bridge gaps in maternal healthcare access, especially for women in underserved communities.

She reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to collaborating with healthcare institutions and local partners to expand the initiative’s reach to rural communities.

The Maternal Health Summit 2025 provided a platform for dialogue, advocacy, and partnership towards ending obstetric fistula and promoting better motherhood outcomes in Ghana.
