The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has officially called on its members based in Accra to apply to attend the 29th GJA Media Awards Ceremony.

Set for Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12:30 PM, the prestigious event will be held at the renowned Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, marking a significant occasion in the media calendar.

This year’s ceremony features distinguished personalities, including His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic and full GJA member in good standing, serving as the Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker.

Other notable special guests are The Right Hon. Spraker Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin and His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Acting Chief Justice.

The GJA Media Awards represent the flagship event of the Association, celebrated annually to honor excellence in journalism.

It stands as the most prestigious platform recognizing journalists and media houses whose work significantly impacts national development, democracy, and media freedom across Ghana.

Making the 2025 awards historic, the event will be hosted by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace, an iconic symbol of Asanteman heritage.

This is the first time the ceremony will take place in this revered setting, adding cultural significance to the celebration.
