The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise in the Greater Accra Region will resume on Thursday, November 20, 2025 with qualified been processed in batches of 600. The process was suspended last week after a stampede at one of the centres.
According to GAF, screening will now take place at eight sub-centres across five locations. These include two centres each at El-Wak Stadium, Nicholson Park at Burma Camp, and TRADOC in Teshie. Screening will also take place at the Air Force Base in Burma Camp and the Eastern Naval Command in Tema.
The release also indicated that qualified applicants will be processed in batches of 600 and will receive text messages indicating their reporting dates, batches, and centres.
GAF also encouraged applicants to check the recruitment portal for updates adding that applicants, who does not receive an SMS by November 20 should contact the helpline on 0256405104 or WhatsApp 0256405154.
GAF has cautioned families and friends not to accompany applicants to reduce congestion and that only applicants will be allowed into the centres.
Meanwhile, the Board of Inquiry investigating the cause of last week’s stampede is still working. To ensure fair and transparent investigations, the entire Greater Accra recruitment team has been replaced. Commodore F.A. Nyarko, Colonel F. Kusi-Darko and Colonel G.B. Eduah have taken over key roles in human resources, manpower, and IT.
GAF expressed regret over the incident and has extended sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured. All injured persons will continue to receive free treatment at the 37 Military Hospital. A special recruitment package will also be offered to them and the affected families after recovery.
The Armed Forces called on the public to support the ongoing recruitment process.
