The Ghana Energy Awards (GEA) Secretariat has officially released the shortlist of nominees for the 9th edition of the prestigious awards scheme marking a historic year with over 500 submissions, the highest received since the Awards’ inception.
This milestone signals the sector’s growing dynamism and its pivotal role in driving Ghana’s economic growth, innovation, job creation, and green transition agenda.
This year’s theme, “Repositioning the Energy Sector as a Pillar of National Development,” underscores Ghana’s renewed push to strengthen energy security, improve operational resilience, expand clean energy adoption, and deepen local content participation across the value chain.
The shortlisted nominees spanning power, petroleum, renewables, regulation, research, and advocacy reflect the collective ambition of industry leaders, rising professionals, and institutions working to transform Ghana’s energy landscape.
In line with its commitment to transparency and integrity, the GEA Secretariat executed a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process involving document reviews, independent validation, and nationwide site verifications.
This assessment was conducted in partnership with a distinguished Awarding Panel, with additional oversight by Forvis Mazars and Casely Brooke Law Firm. The scheme maintains full endorsement from the Ministry of Energy, allied agencies, and the World Energy Council, Ghana.
As Ghana advances its energy transition, strengthens power system performance, and fosters investor confidence, the Awards continue to serve as a catalytic platform for inspiration, accountability, and leadership.
