The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) marked a remarkable milestone on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with a warm and colourful Golden Jubilee Soirée at the Labadi Beach Hotel. The night brought together government leaders, traditional authorities, industry veterans, creatives, and admirers of Ghanaian music to honour five decades of impact and to envision an exciting future for the creative arts.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration), Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, delivered a heartfelt address celebrating MUSIGA’s legacy and reaffirming government’s renewed commitment to the creative economy. She noted that Ghana’s music industry remains a powerful engine for tourism, national pride, and job creation, contributing significantly to the country’s GDP and global identity.

Hon. Bampoe Addo highlighted key initiatives, including the GHS 20 million Creative Arts Fund, strengthened copyright systems, and new partnerships with digital platforms to support creators. She encouraged stakeholders to embrace emerging opportunities in technology, AI, digital distribution, and global collaborations, emphasising that “this is the time for Ghana to take its rightful place on the global creative stage.”
The evening featured uplifting performances by celebrated Ghanaian musicians, a tribute showcase of highlife legends, and the launch and auction of the MUSIGA@50 Commemorative Book. MUSIGA also honoured distinguished personalities whose work has shaped the Ghanaian music landscape over the past five decades.

MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons expressed profound gratitude to members, partners, and pioneers of the Union, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening Ghana’s creative future.
The Golden Jubilee Soirée closed with a collective call to unity, celebrating the past, inspiring the present, and building a vibrant, creative future for the next 50 years and beyond.
