The National Service Authority (NSA) has called on all 2025/2026 service personnel to report to their assigned posts, emphasizing that national service is a patriotic duty and that non-compliance disrupts critical public services.
This appeal was made at a press briefing by the Director-General Ms. Ruth Dela Sedoh, who addressed persistent challenges related to personnel seeking reposting or refusing to report to their allocated institutions.
Ms. Sedoh explained that a significant number of graduates have declined initial postings, particularly to the private sector, preferring positions in the public sector, which has limited and highly competitive vacancies. This has created operational bottlenecks, delaying deployments and affecting service delivery in key institutions.
Additionally, the Authority has identified cases of misrepresentation, where some personnel falsely claimed rejection by their institutions to secure reposting, often without official release letters or evidence of reporting. These actions, she noted, undermine the integrity of the Scheme and the equitable distribution of personnel across regions.
“National Service is, in essence, service to the nation. We match your skills to institutional needs. Therefore, I appeal to every young graduate: when you receive your posting, please serve your nation where you are allocated,” Ms. Sedoh stressed. She added that non-compliance can jeopardize underserved communities, schools, and health facilities that depend on timely deployment of personnel.
She also highlighted that graduates posted to the private sector are likely to have higher prospects of post-service employment due to direct industry exposure, urging them to view their assignments as opportunities rather than inconveniences.
The Director-General further noted that NSA has taken measures to rectify legitimate registration challenges and ensure that no eligible personnel is unfairly disadvantaged. These include regional validation exercises, IT support desks, collaboration with NIA, and the E-Gazette platform to resolve data mismatches.
Finally, Ms. Sedoh reminded graduates that the one-week portal reopening from December 15–22, 2025, is strictly for resolving outstanding issues such as reposting requests with official documentation or incomplete validation. She emphasized that after December 22, the portal will close permanently for the 2025/2026 service year, and all personnel must be in place for the next phase of deployment, including nurses and teachers scheduled for late December.
By urging personnel to honor their postings, the NSA aims to ensure the smooth functioning of the national service system, equitable service distribution, and the successful delivery of critical services in health, education, and public administration.

She did not address those who’s place of posting changed without reposting request. There are many people who can’t validate because their posting have changed.
