The Ministry of Education has responded swiftly to worries from the Ga and Adangbe communities about being left out of a new AI-powered education tool in partnership with Google.

Community members raised alarms after the announcement of a pilot in just four selected Ghanaian languages, fearing exclusion from this tech-driven learning boost.

Ministry officials clarified that the initial rollout, announced by Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, is purely a pilot to test the tool’s effectiveness, adaptability, and impact on students.

This limited start allows for real-world tweaks before broader rollout, ensuring the system works seamlessly across diverse classrooms.

The initiative stands for full inclusivity, with plans to expand to all 12 approved Ghanaian languages, including Ga and Adangbe, once the pilot proves successful.

Officials stressed that no group will be sidelined permanently, positioning the project as a stepping stone to nationwide access.

Ghana’s rich linguistic tapestry remains at the heart of the ministry’s vision, with a strong pledge to equitable tech integration in education.

By valuing every language and culture, the tool aims to level up learning outcomes for all Ghanaian children.

The ministry invites ongoing input from stakeholders, traditional leaders, and communities to build a truly united, tech-savvy education future.
