The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) has launched a new Bible App at its 2026 Bible Week Symposium in Accra, as part of efforts to expand access to Scripture and promote ethical values in national life.

The launch was a major highlight of the symposium, which was held under the theme “The Bible: Guide for Work Ethics and National Development,” drawn from Colossians 3:23–24. The event brought together faith leaders, governance experts, and human resource professionals to reflect on the role of biblical principles in shaping work culture and national development.

According to the Bible Society of Ghana, the newly launched Bible App is designed to provide users with convenient, affordable, and user-friendly access to the Scriptures on mobile devices. The app features multiple Bible translations, including Ghanaian language versions, making it easier for users to read and study the Bible in their preferred language. It also includes search and navigation tools to help users quickly locate passages, as well as options for daily reading and personal study.

The Society says the app is compatible with commonly used smartphones and is intended to support both individual devotion and group Bible study, particularly among young people and working professionals who rely heavily on digital platforms. The initiative forms part of BSG’s broader strategy to leverage technology to deepen Scripture engagement in an increasingly digital society.

Vice President of the Bible Society of Ghana, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, underscored the need for ethical leadership rooted in strong moral values, stressing that improved access to Scripture through digital platforms can help individuals align their professional conduct with moral responsibility and contribute meaningfully to national progress.

The General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana, Very Rev. Dr. John K. Addo Jnr., also delivered a presentation on Bible work in Ghana, highlighting the Society’s ongoing efforts in Bible translation, distribution, and engagement programmes across the country.

Speakers at the symposium emphasized that biblical values such as integrity, diligence, accountability, and service remain relevant to contemporary challenges in public service, business, and governance.

The Bible Society of Ghana says the launch of the Bible App, alongside the 2026 Bible Week Symposium, reflects its commitment to combining faith and innovation to promote ethical leadership, a positive work culture, and Ghana’s overall development agenda.
