The Black Princesses were held to a 2–2 draw by South Africa in the first leg of their U-20 World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana started the game on the front foot. Agnes Yeboah tested the goalkeeper early, while Diana Amoako and Linda Owusu Ansah came close as the Princesses pressed for an opener. Yeboah broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, giving Ghana a 1–0 lead at halftime.

The second half saw a swift response from South Africa, who equalised soon after the restart. Ghana regained the lead in the 52nd minute when Linda Owusu Ansah headed in from a corner.

Despite dominating periods of the game, Ghana could not hold on. South Africa scored again in the 80th minute, leaving the score 2–2 at the final whistle.

The draw leaves the tie wide open ahead of the return leg in South Africa, where the Black Princesses must deliver a strong performance to secure qualification for the U-20 World Cup.
