Legacy Rise CEO Sharaf Mahama has pledged his support for the Beach Soccer One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup, which will be hosted in Ghana in May this year.

Sharaf Mahama arrived at the Accra Sports Stadium for the launch of the One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 on Friday, February 6, to offer his unflinching support for the sport.

Organized under the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) One Humanity Campaign in partnership with Beach Soccer Worldwide, the event aims to promote inclusion, cultural exchange, peace, and shared human values through sport.

The son of President John Dramani Mahama and CEO of Legacy Rise Sports has been highly active in the Ghanaian sports scene, particularly boxing and football, with his latest appearance in beach soccer.

He commended the NSA boss for the introduction of the sport in Ghana over the last couple of years and called for the need to support and expand it.

The launch featured cultural performances by the Ghana Supporters Union, setting a tone of unity and celebration.

NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah highlighted beach soccer’s potential to activate Ghana’s coastline and position the country for major international events. Lead Organizer Banasco Nuhu Seidu emphasized Ghana’s hospitality and the tournament’s focus on legacy, opportunity, and community unity.

GFA Beach Soccer Committee Chairman Yaw Gyamfi Kusi Awere noted the competition’s role in developing local talent and providing international exposure.

The tournament will feature Ghana (Black Sharks), Nigeria, England, and Germany in a round-robin format, alongside youth clinics, cultural activities, and community outreach programs, and is scheduled for May 8–10, 2026, at Laboma Beach, La, Accra.

The presence of IOM Chief of Mission Fatou Diallo Ndiaye underscored the event’s humanitarian focus.

The tournament represents more than competition, serving as a platform for social cohesion and Ghana’s growing presence on the global sports stage.
